Marie Brand Voltzke died Saturday June 17, 2017 at Oak Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 98 years old. She was born October 29, 1918 at Way Summitt, West Virginia. Marie was a World War II Veteran. She served in the WAVES, US Navy, as Chief Specialist Q in Communications Intelligence. She is listed in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project,"The Voices of War" issued in 2004. In 1977 she retired from the Adoption Division of Stanislaus County Social Services. She was a member of Ceres First Baptist Church for many years, working in the nursery department for twelve years. On moving to Turlock she joined Monte Vista Chapel. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin F. Voltzke, in 1987. She is survived by two daughters, Iris French of Las Cruces, NM and Gay Losher (Dennis) of Twain Harte, CA, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Internment at Lakewood Memorial Park.
